Begin to make the shifts that lead to the close, connected relationships you long to experience. Work with the theme and affirmation below. Take time to experience the word and take in the affirmation. Living from these concepts is not always easy. The words and affirmations are designed to help you become more aware and intentional in your relationships.

I am receptive and available to others.

When others come to me, I take a deep breath and make space within myself to focus on them. I am willing to stop and postpone what I am doing to become aware of what others are communicating, feeling and needing. I relax and focus on listening. I want others to feel their significance and importance to me. I strive to be especially responsive to those who matter most to me, attuning to their need, whether it be for contact, affection, dialogue or encouragement.

Tip:  Practice pausing to assess the situation and deeply listen to your child, partner or significant other. Be slow to respond verbally. Notice any impulse to take things personally or give advice. Try seeking to understand the other person first. Know that you are deeply valuable and each interaction provides the opportunity to really show up for those you love and connect to them more deeply.
