Begin Again

I recognize the opportunity to begin again.

Each day I begin by determining what is important to me and who I want to be.   I set my intentions into motion.  When I find that my experience or behavior is not consistent with what I value, I gently pause and give myself the opportunity to begin again.   I am kind to myself.   I recognize new ways of being takes practice. Meeting goals and living a vision is not all or nothing, but rather a process of realigning my behaviors with my values.  I am patient with myself which allows me to persist in the direction of my desires.

Tip:   Do you feel like you start off with good intentions and then find yourself back in old patterns of conflict or engaging with old self-destructive habits?  The secret is to begin again as quickly as possible.  State right out loud to another person or to your Higher Self what it is that you truly desire.   Stating your positive intention is a wonderful jump start back in the right direction.  In the case of interpersonal conflict, you will find stating your positive hope will lead to a moment of consensus, and provide the opportunity for collaboration.  Imagine for example, how a significant other might respond if you said, "I want us each to feel heard and respected"  or "I want us to have a good relationship and healthy communication."  It is not necessary to have all the answers in that moment or know how to make your intention happen.   Recalling your goal or vision will create a pause, help you shift out of habitual ways of being, and invite new possibilities for interacting or engaging.
