In order to experience something new, we need to become familiar with the thoughts and feelings in our minds and guide them to be consistent with the life we want to live. When we shift our thoughts and self-talk, our approach to life changes. Everything and everyone around us will be touched by that shift, and we will have the opportunity for a new experience as a result.
Use these weekly Affirmations and Tips to try out a new thought or approach. Let me know how it works for you. I’d love to hear from you!
I am amazing!
This month I experience my own qualities and strength. There is no other person with my combination of genetics, life experiences, talents, and personality. There is no other person in a position to contribute in the way I do. I bring something completely unique to the life of those with whom I am in relationship. I am distinctively and irreplaceably valuable.
Tip: Practice positive self-talk. Recognize yourself throughout the day. Acknowledge what you like about how you are interacting or what you like about what you are doing. Focus on appreciating how you are being, rather than evaluating yourself based on results or circumstances.
For example, “I like that I took two hours and worked hard on organizing my closest,” versus “I like how my closet looks or I feel good about finishing my closet.” How you behave is within your control, but the results are not always within your control. This is especially true in relationships. I can like how I interacted with someone, however, that doesn’t mean the relationship will take the form I want or the other person will behave how I want.
Remember, it is from a place of deep self-appreciation that we are able to truly appreciate others.
