We are drawn to the familiar. To experience something new, we need to become familiar with the thoughts and feelings in our minds and guide them to be consistent with the life of our dreams.

Our thoughts are the guiding force of our behaviors. Habitual thoughts may cause us to repeat unhappy patterns. These weekly Affirmations and Tips are designed to help you replace these habitual thoughts to enhance your life and your relationships.  

 

 

Self-Acceptance 

I love and accept myself.

I accept that I am in a process of growth and healing. I do not have all the answers and recognize no one does. I am patient and kind to myself knowing that I have a history that may include confusing or hurtful messages and painful life experiences. I understand that sometimes I am triggered emotionally and am in need of care and support. From a place of accepting my own humanness, I can create an atmosphere of loving support for others and myself. In an atmosphere of loving support, insight and recovery are possible.

  

Tip: Notice when you feel bad or guilty about a feeling you are having. Permit yourself to have feelings of insecurity, sadness, loneliness, and other more vulnerable feelings without telling yourself a story. These feelings do not mean that you are inadequate, weak, burdensome, immature, or too sensitive. Rather, take the time to bring love and acceptance to yourself, whether this means reaching out to supportive others or taking personal time. From this place of self-acceptance, you can access internal and external support that will help you evolve.
