Your thoughts are the guiding force of your behaviors. An affirmation is a thought intended to replace another thought—namely, a habitual thought which has caused us to repeat unhappy patterns.

We are drawn to the familiar. In order to experience something new, we need to become familiar with the thoughts and feelings in our own minds and guide them to be consistent with the life of our dreams.

Use these weekly Affirmations and Tips to enhance your relationships in 2019.

Cooperation

I am cooperative in my relationships.

My relationships are based on equality and respect. Through collaboration and cooperation, I experience my value and convey the value of my partner, children, and friends. New and better ideas emerge as I work together with the people in my life.

I consider myself a part of a team in my work, family, and community. I seek to integrate the experience of others, as well as contribute my own knowledge and inspirations. I recognize I don’t have all the answers and can benefit from the wisdom of others.

Tip:  Start difficult conversations by clarifying what each of you hopes to be the ultimate outcome. You can do this by asking what they need or want to happen and why this is important to them. Share your needs and wants as well. This usually leads to the recognition that there are shared values and hopes. For example, you may disagree about "how" to parent a child, but you agree that you want the child to become responsible. In this way, you start the conversation on the same page.
